On the evening of August 28, 1987, twenty-year-old Fabian Del Rosario was navigating the streets of Boulder, Colorado, in his brown 1979 Datsun 280ZX. A student at the University of Colorado, he had plans that were typical for a young man on a Friday night. At around 7:00 PM, he dropped off a friend in the vicinity of 30th Street and Colorado Avenue. His next stop was to pick up his girlfriend from her job when her shift ended at 7:30 PM.
