On April 10, 2022, a tragic shooting occurred at the Taboo Nightclub and Lounge in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including Nicole Owens, a 35-year-old resident of Cedar Rapids. Owens was at the club to celebrate a mutual friend’s birthday along with the other victim, Marvin Cox, 31, also from Cedar Rapids.
