On a summer evening in Murray, a suburb of Salt Lake City, the life of 58-year-old Thomas Dunn was tragically cut short. On June 11, 2017, an argument between Dunn and his neighbor escalated into a fatal confrontation. The male victim was shot and killed during the dispute.
The incident unfolded at the Iris Apartments located at 4865 South State Street, where both Dunn and the alleged shooter resided.
According to police reports, Dunn and his neighbor, 56-year-old Carl David Johnson, had been drinking together prior to the altercation. What began as a disagreement between the two men intensified, culminating in Johnson allegedly shooting Dunn.
Law enforcement responded to a call of shots fired at approximately 4:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Dunn with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
