On the evening of May 28, 2021, a Hispanic man named Omar Isael Gomez Salazar, 28 years old, traveled from his home in Colorado to Magna, Utah, for work. That night, he arrived at a barbecue taking place at a residence on Westbury Drive. The gathering turned tragic when Omar was fatally shot shortly after he got out of his car.
