On a late Saturday night in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the life of Curtis Stephens, a 35-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On September 20, 2014, at approximately 11 p.m., Stephens was on the porch of his residence at 179 Monroe St., accompanied by three young children, one of whom was his own son. In a horrific turn of events, a gunman approached and fatally shot Stephens in the head in front of the children before fleeing the scene on foot.
