On the evening of January 30, 2018, a young Black/African American man named Eric Heard, 19 years old, was walking from his family's home on Price Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to buy food. His journey was cut short when he was ambushed and shot in the head. Police officers responded to reports of the shooting and found Heard lying in the road.
