Alejandro "Jano" Fuentes, a 44-year-old Mexican singer and former contestant on The Voice Mexico, was shot on June 16, 2016, while celebrating his birthday in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood. Fuentes was approached by an armed man who demanded he exit his vehicle. After refusing, Fuentes was shot multiple times in the head. He was kept on life support until his family could arrive, and he passed away on June 18, 2016. Despite investigations, no suspects were immediately identified
