On December 27, 2018, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Hartford police responded to a ShotSpotter activation near Garden Street and Pliny Street, indicating multiple gunshots fired. Concurrently, several 911 calls reported two individuals had been shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Ross Stone of West Hartford unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head near 451 Garden Street. He was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 5:00 p.m.
