In the early morning hours of January 12, 2019, Eduardo Concepcion, a 30-year-old male, was fatally shot in Stratford, Connecticut. The incident occurred just after 2:15 a.m. on Regency Terrace near Peace Street. Concepcion and another man were sitting in a parked car when they were approached by two males on foot. Following a verbal exchange, one of the approaching men brandished a firearm and fired at least one shot, striking Concepcion.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene,
and upon arrival, officers found Concepcion wounded by gunfire. He was quickly transported to Bridgeport Hospital for medical attention but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The two suspects fled the area on foot after the shooting. A preliminary investigation suggested that the killing was not a random act.
In the wake of the homicide, the Stratford Police Department launched an investigation, appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the two suspects. The suspects were described as wearing dark clothing, with one reportedly wearing bright white sneakers. They were last seen fleeing on Peace Street in the direction of Thompson Street. Nearly a year after the shooting, a $50,000 reward was offered for information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for Eduardo Concepcion's death. As of late 2019, no arrests had been made in the case, and the police continue to seek assistance from the community to bring the perpetrators to justice.
