investigators before he passed away, but he could not identify his assailant. Witnesses reported seeing a black male on a bicycle leaving the area immediately after the shooting, but it remains unclear if this individual was involved in the crime. Ford, who had grown up in the neighborhood and worked as a long-haul truck driver, was known to be a single man living alone at the time of his death. Deputies found him alone on his porch, although it is believed that friends who were visiting him fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
