On a tragic autumn night in 2003, the life of Shawn Miller, a 30-year-old Black or African American male, was cut short by a sudden act of violence at his Stratford, Connecticut home. Just before midnight on October 13th, a knock came at the back door of his 172 Bruce Avenue residence. When Miller answered, an unknown man dressed in dark clothing shot him in the face and then vanished into the night.
