On the evening of September 1, 2019, 17-year-old Usher Hanns was fatally shot on Edgewood Street in Hartford, Connecticut. The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. when multiple shooters fired from a vehicle into a large crowd. Hanns sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on September 4, 2019. Three other individuals suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds during the shooting.
