In the early hours of a Saturday morning, on April 9, 2022, the life of 33-year-old Michael Yon of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was tragically cut short. The male victim was at the Bridgeport Innovation Center on Connecticut Avenue when gunfire erupted at approximately 4:00 a.m. Responding to multiple 911 calls, police officers arrived to find a chaotic scene.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Yon suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. In the unfolding events, it was learned that two other individuals had also sustained gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital by private vehicles with non-life-threatening injuries and their identities were not publicly disclosed.
The Bridgeport Police Department's Detective Bureau, including its Homicide and Identification Units, promptly began an investigation into the shooting. They processed the crime scene for evidence and commenced a search for those responsible for Michael Yon's death.
