Africa Bass, a 23-year-old mother of two, was tragically killed on July 27, 2016, in Chicago. She had just moved to a new apartment in the South Chicago neighborhood when she was shot while walking with her aunt shortly after midnight. The incident occurred on her son's fifth birthday, adding a layer of devastation to her family's grief.
