In the late summer of 2013, the life of a young mother, Samantha Jo Olson, a 31-year-old White female, was tragically cut short in what appeared to be a random act of violence in North Little Rock, Arkansas. On the afternoon of August 14, Samantha was driving her car near the intersection of McCain Boulevard and JFK Boulevard. Her eleven-month-old daughter was securely fastened in her car seat in the back.

Suddenly, gunfire erupted from another moving vehicle, a single bullet striking Samantha. Her car came to a stop in the busy intersection. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Samantha Jo Olson succumbed to her injuries. Miraculously, her infant daughter was unharmed in the incident.

The North Little Rock Police Department launched an intensive investigation into the homicide. Detectives worked tirelessly, following up on hundreds of tips that poured in from the community. A key piece of information that emerged was the description of the suspect's vehicle: a maroon Ford F-150 pickup truck, believed to be a model from the years 2004 to 2008. Investigators contacted the owners of hundreds of such trucks in Pulaski County in an effort to identify the person responsible.

Despite the extensive investigation and a significant reward offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction, the case grew cold. To this day, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the murder of Samantha Jo Olson. The motive for the shooting remains unknown, leaving her family and the community with unanswered questions about the senseless act that took the life of a beloved daughter, wife, and mother.
