Kristen Lee McDaniel was a 34-year-old mother of five from Ward, Arkansas. Known to some as "KayKay," she was remembered as a funny and kind person. A loved one shared that Kristen had a "wonderful heart, always wanted to help others in need," adding, "She didn't deserve this end!"

On the afternoon of Saturday, September 28, 2024, Kristen's life was tragically taken in North Little Rock. At approximately 3 p.m., the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Highway 161 and Jamison Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Kristen, a White female, deceased at the scene from what was determined to be a gunshot wound.

The investigation into the fatal shooting quickly led authorities to a suspect. Natasha Trupka, a 40-year-old woman, was identified and arrested in connection with Kristen's death. She was taken into custody and booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.

Trupka was formally charged with capital murder. As the case moved through the justice system, she was ultimately convicted for the murder of Kristen McDaniel. Following her conviction, a judge sentenced Natasha Trupka to 30 years in prison for the crime. With the perpetrator identified, convicted, and sentenced, the case is now legally closed.
