In the spring of 2014, the life of Leonard D. Montgomery, a 25-year-old male, was abruptly cut short. On the night of April 19th, in Little Rock, Arkansas, an argument broke out among a small group of people near an apartment building on Mablevale Cutoff. The dispute escalated tragically when a handgun was fired, and Montgomery was struck by the bullet.
He was rushed from the scene in critical condition but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting death of Leonard Montgomery led to the identification of suspects. U.S. Marshals later apprehended one individual in connection with the killing. In early November of that same year, the investigation culminated in a second arrest. Authorities in Sherwood, Arkansas, took 20-year-old Rowney 'Ronnie' Torrence into custody.
Following his arrest, Torrence faced a charge of first-degree murder for his alleged role in Montgomery's death. The apprehension of two suspects suggested a complex situation that ended a young man's life and left a community searching for answers.
