In the early morning hours of September 11, 2014, the life of 25-year-old Reggie Willis, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. A 2010 graduate of Pine Bluff High School, Willis was discovered in a lot at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Spruce Street after a passing train crew spotted his body and alerted the authorities. Police received the call about a 'man down' at approximately 7:15 a.m.
Upon their arrival, officers found Willis with gunshot wounds.
Despite any efforts that may have been made to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Pine Bluff Police Department promptly began investigating his death as a homicide, marking the twelfth such case in the city for that year.
