On the morning of October 9, 2021, an 18-year-old Black male named Christian Lamar Mayzes was found with a gunshot wound in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Police responded to a call shortly before 5:00 a.m. at 3702 W. Short 2nd Street where they discovered Mayzes. Before he lost consciousness, Mayzes was able to tell the officers that he had been shot at a club located at 218 S. Blake Street.
