On the evening of Friday, April 5, 2019, the life of 22-year-old Detric Releford, a male, was tragically cut short in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The incident unfolded at approximately 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of 26th Avenue and Orange Street, where officers responded to reports of gunfire. This marked the 10th homicide in the city of Pine Bluff for that year.

The following day, a second suspect was apprehended. On April 9, 2019, the Pine Bluff Police Department announced the arrest of 22-year-old Jaylon Lowe. Like Johnson, Lowe faced charges of capital murder and aggravated robbery for his alleged involvement in the death of Detric Releford.
