On August 24, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., 24-year-old Jordan Antoine Shaw was fatally shot in the 3100 block of South Virginia Street in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Officers responding to the scene discovered a vehicle in the driveway damaged by gunfire and found Shaw's body between the car and the home. Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley pronounced Shaw dead at 9:15 p.m.
Shaw was a resident of Pine Bluff and had attended both the Pine Bluff and White Hall School Districts, graduating from White Hall High School in 2016. He later attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Professionally, Shaw was employed by UPS in Pine Bluff, Foot Locker in Plano, Texas, and ZAGG in both Plano and Frisco, Texas. He was an avid basketball player, enjoyed fishing, playing video games, and cherished spending time with his family and friends, including his son, Jamari Antoine, whom he affectionately called 'PopPop.'
Following the incident, the Pine Bluff Police Department initiated a homicide investigation. As of the latest available information, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified. Jordan Shaw's funeral services were held on September 3, 2022, at New Community Church in Pine Bluff, with Pastor Terrence Williams serving as the eulogist. He was interred at Graceland Cemetery.
