On June 22, 2016, James Murray, 44, was fatally shot on the front porch of a residence at 315 West 15th Avenue in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The State Medical Examiner determined that Murray died from a single gunshot wound to the head, fired from approximately 12 to 15 inches away. A .45-caliber revolver recovered from a nearby residence was identified as the murder weapon.
