In the quiet, early morning hours of August 9, 2015, the tranquility of a typically peaceful Little Rock neighborhood was shattered by the sound of multiple gunshots. Inside his home at 6901 Colonel Glenn Road, 55-year-old Dennis Lee Sobba and his family were startled by the commotion of several cars and people gathering outside. Moments later, the sharp crack of gunfire echoed through the night. When family members looked outside, they saw several vehicles speeding away from the scene.
Rushing into the front yard, they found Dennis, a White male, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Emergency services were called, and police officers arrived at approximately 2:00 a.m. to find Sobba critically injured. He was immediately transported to Baptist Hospital for urgent medical care. For two days, he fought for his life, but tragically succumbed to his injuries on August 11, 2015, marking the 19th homicide in Little Rock that year. An entrepreneur and explorer by nature, Dennis was born in Tainan, Taiwan, and was a graduate of Catholic High School and the University of Central Arkansas.
The sudden and violent death of Dennis Sobba left his family and neighbors in a state of shock and disbelief. A neighbor living across the street recalled hearing three distinct shots before witnessing the chaotic departure of multiple vehicles. In the wake of the tragedy, Sobba's grieving family offered a $15,000 reward for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for his death.
Despite the ongoing investigation by the Little Rock Police Department and the substantial reward offered, the case has grown cold. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murder of Dennis Sobba.
