On November 16, 2018, 18-year-old Kennelle Anderson was fatally shot in Little Rock, Arkansas. Alongside Anderson, 19-year-olds Carrington Williams and LaTija Luckey were also killed in the incident. A fourth individual, a 17-year-old male, sustained multiple gunshot wounds but survived. The victims were discovered in a wrecked vehicle at the intersection of West 14th and Peyton Streets, with Anderson pronounced dead at the scene.
Williams and Luckey were transported to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The Little Rock Police Department identified 21-year-old Joshua Milik Williams as a suspect in the triple homicide. He was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree battery. Williams was apprehended on January 9, 2019, in San Diego, California, after being found aboard a public transit train. He was arrested for a fare violation, and a subsequent records check revealed the active felony warrant for the Little Rock triple homicide. Williams was booked into San Diego Central Jail and later extradited to Arkansas to face charges.
The tragic deaths of Anderson, Williams, and Luckey highlighted the ongoing issue of gun violence in Little Rock. Community members held vigils to honor the victims and call for an end to such violence. The case underscored the need for continued efforts to address gun-related crimes and support affected families in the community.
