In the late hours of a March evening in 2022, a quiet street in Rockmart, Georgia, became the scene of a violent crime that would ultimately claim the lives of three men. Among them was Cody Daniel Fuller, a 30-year-old white male from the nearby city of Dallas. On the night of March 21st, Fuller was at a home on Chesapeake Way with two other men, 42-year-old Clinton Matthew Aiola and 30-year-old Davauntee Anthony Ramsay. Shortly before 11:00 PM, a call was made to Paulding E-911 reporting a triple shooting at the residence.
Investigators determined that two men, identified as Carlos Favors-Battle and Justin Quartez Sims, had entered the home with the intent to commit a robbery. During the course of the robbery, all three men inside the home were shot. Aiola died at the scene, and Ramsay passed away a few hours later at the hospital. Cody Fuller fought for his life for another day but succumbed to his injuries on March 22, 2022, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. The incident shocked the local community, prompting a swift and intensive investigation by law enforcement.
The investigation quickly led to the identification of suspects. On March 24, 2022, Carlos Favors-Battle, then 26, was apprehended in Douglasville by Paulding County deputies and U.S. Marshals. The investigation continued, leading to the arrest of a third individual, Bridgette Skye Jones, a 28-year-old woman, on April 1, 2022. Jones was reportedly present at the scene and had knowledge of the crime. The second alleged shooter, 29-year-old Justin Quartez Sims, was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Rome, Georgia, on April 6, 2022.
All three suspects faced a litany of charges, including malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault. They were held in the Paulding County Jail without bond. The legal process moved forward, and Justin Quartez Sims was eventually convicted for his role in the triple homicide. For the murders of Cody Fuller, Clinton Aiola, and Davauntee Ramsay, Sims received three life sentences, ensuring he would be held accountable for the tragic and senseless loss of life that occurred that spring night in Rockmart.
