In the early morning hours of November 8, 2017, a grim discovery was made in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Willie Oglesby Jr., a 29-year-old male, was found inside his Dodge Charger, which was stopped in the roadway in the 1700 block of West 29th Avenue. Officers had been dispatched to the area of 29th Avenue and Hazel Street around 1:15 a.m. after a caller reported a passenger car in the road and suspected the occupant may have been shot.
Upon their arrival, authorities found Oglesby deceased
in his vehicle from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into his death led authorities to a suspect the following month.
On Monday, December 4, 2017, Deondrick Clark, a 20-year-old from Grady, was taken into custody in connection with the murder of Oglesby. Clark was subsequently held at the Jefferson County Jail on a charge of first-degree murder.
