In the early morning hours of January 30, 2018, Deunta Blakemore, a 25-year-old man, was fatally shot while sitting in the passenger seat of a car outside his mother's residence in Whitehall, near Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Deunta was a graduate of Crossett High School and had
also earned a degree in welding from the Arkansas Career Training Institute. He was an employee at Tyson Foods in the Pack-out department. He is remembered by his family and friends as a God-fearing man who was deeply loved. His death left a profound impact on his loved ones, including his fiancée and young daughter. His supervisor at Tyson Foods spoke highly of him, and his coworkers remembered him as a quiet and agreeable colleague.
