In the early morning hours of January 30, 2018, Deunta Blakemore, a 25-year-old man, was fatally shot while sitting in the passenger seat of a car outside his mother's residence in Whitehall, near Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Around 3 a.m., while with his family, the quiet of the morning was shattered by gunfire that ended Deunta's life. His mother, Veronica, was awakened by her daughter with the news and rushed outside to find him wounded.
