In the winter of 2018, the life of 33-year-old Zechariah Nino Jones, a male resident of North Little Rock, Arkansas, was tragically cut short. On the evening of January 26th, Jones was fatally wounded in a shooting that prompted a swift investigation by the North Little Rock Police Department. The incident left a community in mourning and set off a multi-state manhunt for those responsible for his death.
In the days following the shooting, law enforcement officials identified three
individuals as suspects in the murder of Zechariah Jones. Warrants were issued for the arrests of David Bell, then 27, Jonathan Hall, and Braylon Winston. The North Little Rock Police Department moved quickly, and on January 31, 2018, both Jonathan Hall and Braylon Winston were taken into custody. Their arrests marked a significant breakthrough in the case, bringing two of the three wanted individuals to justice and offering a glimmer of hope to a grieving family.
The search for the third suspect, David Bell, extended beyond the borders of Arkansas. For weeks, his whereabouts remained unknown as he actively evaded capture. The investigation eventually led authorities to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where it was believed Bell was hiding. Acting on a tip, a coordinated effort between the Harrisburg police, the U.S. Marshals Task Force, and the Pennsylvania State Police culminated in his arrest on the evening of March 8, 2018. Officers surrounded a residence on Boas Street and were permitted entry. Inside, they located a man matching Bell's description who initially denied his identity. Despite his denial, he was arrested without incident. During a search of the bedroom where he was found, officers discovered a bullet-resistant vest. Bell was subsequently held in the Dauphin County Jail to await extradition back to Arkansas to face charges in connection with the death of Zechariah Nino Jones.
