In February of 2019, the life of 27-year-old Christopher Robert Farmer was tragically cut short in Hartman, Arkansas. Born on August 26, 1991, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Farmer, a carpenter by trade, was a husband, stepfather, brother, and son. His sudden death on February 15, 2019, was the result of gun violence, leaving his family and friends to grapple with the unexpected loss of a man described as having a powerful presence and a great personality.
The circumstances surrounding
Farmer's death quickly evolved into a homicide investigation, prompting a search for the individual responsible. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office identified a suspect, Robert Baker, and a manhunt ensued. The search for Baker concluded on February 24, 2019, when authorities received a tip regarding his possible location.
Law enforcement officers spotted Baker driving a vehicle and attempted to make contact. Baker tried to flee, leading to a pursuit that ended in a motor vehicle crash between his vehicle and a police unit. Following the crash, officers took Baker into custody without further incident. A female passenger in the vehicle was identified as Jackie Farmer, Christopher Farmer's wife. She was also taken into custody. Both were transported to the Johnson County Detention Center as the investigation continued. Robert Baker was subsequently wanted on murder charges in connection with the death of Christopher Farmer.
