In the early morning hours of May 28, 2019, the life of 33-year-old Alton Randall Jr., a Black male from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was tragically cut short. Gunshots echoed in the area of South Maple just around 12:30 a.m., prompting a response from local law enforcement. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Randall with what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound. The deputy coroner pronounced him dead at the scene, marking a grim milestone as the city's 14th homicide of the year.
