In the early morning hours of May 28, 2019, the life of 33-year-old Alton Randall Jr., a Black male from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was tragically cut short. Gunshots echoed in the area of South Maple just around 12:30 a.m., prompting a response from local law enforcement. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Randall with what appeared to be a fatal gunshot wound.
The deputy coroner pronounced him dead at the scene, marking a grim milestone as the city's 14th homicide of the year.
The Pine Bluff Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting, seeking to piece together the events that led to Randall's untimely death. In an effort to encourage community assistance, authorities offered a substantial reward of up to $10,000 for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for this violent act.
