On a Friday night in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of Glenn Jennings, a 36-year-old man, was tragically cut short. The date was January 20, 2017, and what began as an ordinary evening ended in a double homicide that marked the city's first two murders of the year.
Police were called to a residence on Division Street shortly after 9 p.m., where they discovered a grim scene. Inside one of the bedrooms, they found Glenn Jennings and another man, Monte Gilbert, who was 26 years old.
Both men had been shot. Gilbert was pronounced dead at the scene, while Jennings was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the double homicide quickly led police to a person of interest. A few hours after the shooting, officers located a white Mercury Mountaineer parked just a block away from the crime scene with the keys still in the ignition. Authorities made contact with Emanuel Traylor and two other individuals who initially claimed the vehicle had been stolen. However, the story soon unraveled.
One of the witnesses admitted to fabricating the car theft and implicated Traylor in the killings of both Jennings and Gilbert. Based on the witness's testimony, investigators came to believe that the fatal shootings were the result of a drug deal that had gone terribly wrong. Traylor was subsequently arrested in connection with the deaths of the two men.
