On April 12, 2022, 52-year-old William Welch of North Little Rock, Arkansas, was fatally shot during a domestic disturbance on Highway 165. Responding to a 911 call, North Little Rock Police Department officers found Welch with at least one gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
