On October 18, 2019, 20-year-old Jamarius Jawon Reese was fatally shot in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of First and East Park Streets, where they found Reese lying face down with multiple gunshot wounds to his back. Despite rescue efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
