On December 7, 2019, Officer Stephen Paul Carr, a 27-year-old member of the Fayetteville Police Department in Arkansas, was tragically killed in the line of duty. While sitting in his patrol vehicle outside the police station, he was ambushed and fatally shot by a lone gunman. The assailant approached Officer Carr's vehicle and fired multiple shots, resulting in his immediate death.
