On September 4, 1971, a family gathering at the Basore farm near Mount Olive in the Ozark Mountains of northwestern Arkansas turned tragic when 51-year-old Obie Harmon was fatally shot. The assailant was identified as 45-year-old Elinore Basore, the estranged wife of George Basore Jr.
