In the spring of 2020, the life of 20-year-old Jeremy Thompson, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. On the evening of May 20th, police responded to calls of multiple gunshots in the 4300 block of South Olive Street. Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered Thompson slumped over in a vehicle, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds.
Another 20-year-old male was also found at the scene with gunshot injuries.
Thompson was quickly transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away the following day, on May 21, 2020. His death was classified as the city's 11th homicide of the year. The identity and condition of the second victim were not widely disclosed in public reports.
In the wake of the shooting, the Pine Bluff Police Department launched an investigation into the homicide. Authorities have reached out to the public for assistance, offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Thompson's death. As of the latest available information, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to seek answers and justice for Jeremy Thompson.
