On a Wednesday morning in Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of Brian Keith Britt, a 47-year-old male from Conway, was tragically cut short. On February 10, 2021, at approximately 11:45 a.m., officers from the Little Rock Police Department were dispatched to CHI St. Vincent hospital following a report of a person down. Upon their arrival, they discovered Britt suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite being at a place of healing, his injuries proved fatal, and he died at the scene.
The subsequent investigation into the homicide quickly identified a person of interest. Homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit responded to the hospital to process the area for evidence. Surveillance footage from the hospital captured a red pickup truck speeding away from the location around the time of the shooting. This vehicle was later located by law enforcement. The investigation pointed to Kevin L. Hamilton, Jr. as the suspect in the shooting death of Brian Keith Britt.
Following the identification of Hamilton as the primary suspect, a warrant was issued for his arrest. The Little Rock Police Department took Kevin L. Hamilton, Jr. into custody, charging him with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by certain persons in connection with Brian Keith Britt's death. He was subsequently held in pre-trial confinement at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility. Legal proceedings against Hamilton commenced, with his trial being scheduled and subsequently continued as the case moved through the justice system.
