On June 14, 2022, at approximately 6:05 p.m., the North Little Rock Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 3800 block of Hillside Drive, a residential area in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon arrival, officers discovered 30-year-old Keith Anthony Waller from El Dorado, Arkansas, suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, Waller succumbed to his injuries shortly after the incident.
Investigators identified 20-year-old Ramondo Montray Edwards of North Little Rock as a suspect in the homicide. Edwards was charged with first-degree murder in connection with Waller's death. He was apprehended on June 15, 2022, near an apartment complex in Conway, Arkansas, by the United States Marshals Service Eastern District of Arkansas Fugitive Task Force, in cooperation with officers from the Conway Police Department and detectives from the North Little Rock Police Department.
On February 8, 2024, Edwards pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the death of Keith Waller. He was subsequently sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Keith Waller was born on September 20, 1991, to Kenneth Wayne Waller and Carolyn Loueaser Porchia Waller. He was preceded in death by his father and several family members, including his maternal grandparents, Dr. E.A. Porchia and Mamie J. Porchia; paternal grandparents, L.J. Waller and Rita Waller; and aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother, three children—Kaiden Waller, Kaliyah Waller, and Kyson Thomas—two sisters, a half-brother, two nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Keith Waller was a resident of El Dorado, Arkansas, and was known for his involvement in the community. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at a young age and was active in the Greater Paradise Missionary Baptist Church in El Dorado, where he served as an usher and a youth deacon. He attended El Dorado public schools and obtained his diploma in 2009. In 2016, he enrolled in Rester Barber School. He worked at a barber shop, did construction work, and worked at a bar and grill restaurant.
