In the autumn of 2022, the life of 34-year-old Barry Campbell was tragically cut short in Little Rock, Arkansas. On the afternoon of Wednesday, October 12th, police responded to a shooting on West 12th Street. Upon arrival, they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One was Barry Campbell, and the other was identified as 65-year-old Fredrick Jordan.
Both men were immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Barry Campbell succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His family was left heartbroken, remembering him as a loving father, brother, and protector who was the life of the party. The day he was killed, he had spoken to his sister on the phone, making plans to call her back later—a call that would never be made. The loss was especially profound for his family, who had lost their mother the previous year.
In the wake of the shooting, the Little Rock Police Department launched a homicide investigation. Detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and any available surveillance footage. Their investigation led them to identify a person of interest in connection with the deadly shooting.
Subsequently, an arrest was made in the case. Joshua Thomas, a 19-year-old, was charged with first-degree murder for his alleged role in the death of Barry Campbell. He was also charged with first-degree battery related to the injuries sustained by Fredrick Jordan. Thomas later surrendered to the police. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains ongoing.
