In the late hours of a Tuesday in Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of 32-year-old Broderick Dwayne Blueford was tragically cut short. On October 18, 2022, police responded to a call on Leander Drive where they discovered Blueford suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but the severity of his injuries proved fatal.
The investigation into the shooting led authorities to two suspects who were not from the area.
Evidence presented during legal proceedings showed that Ferrod McCoy and his accomplice, Mason Abraham, had traveled from Memphis, Tennessee, with the intent to commit the homicide. Their journey ended in the violent act that took Blueford's life at The Ridge Apartments.
Following the investigation by the Little Rock Police Department and the Arkansas State Police, both 22-year-old Ferrod McCoy and 20-year-old Mason Abraham were arrested. They faced serious charges, including capital murder and the discharge of a firearm from a vehicle. In April 2025, a jury found Ferrod McCoy guilty for his role in the fatal shooting. The trial for Mason Abraham was scheduled to take place later that same month.
