On February 23, 2005, 26-year-old Kevin Pierce Sr. was tragically murdered in Omaha, Nebraska. He was lured to a secluded location by 21-year-old Taiana Matheny, who had met him earlier and arranged the meeting under false pretenses. Upon arrival, Pierce was ambushed by Matheny's accomplices, Terry Sellers and his cousin, Terrell Thorpe. The assailants robbed Pierce before Matheny, under Sellers' coercion, fatally shot him in the head.
