In the winter of 2008, a mother's concern for her daughter led to a tragic discovery in Glendale, Arizona. On January 21st, after being unable to get in touch with 19-year-old Caritina J. Vega, her mother went to her apartment to check on her. Upon entering, she found her daughter unresponsive and immediately called for help. Emergency services arrived, but it was too late. Investigators determined that the young Hispanic woman had been fatally shot.
