On December 4, 2024, at approximately 9:43 a.m., Killeen police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1100 block of West Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds: 66-year-old Kyong Cha Carcano and a 76-year-old male. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, Ms. Carcano succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
