In the early morning hours of December 8, 2024, the life of Demetrius M. Marr-Woods, a 27-year-old Black/African American male from Kent, Washington, was tragically cut short. Known to his loved ones as Marquel, he was in the parking lot of the Cloud 9 Bar on Central Avenue South when gunfire erupted at approximately 12:41 a.m. Numerous 911 calls flooded into the Kent Police Department, reporting the shooting.
