On December 15, 2024, at approximately 7:15 a.m., emergency responders in New Church, Virginia, were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Green Hill Road. The blaze had spread to nearby brush, prompting a coordinated response from the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, Virginia State Police, New Church Volunteer Fire Department, Oak Hall Rescue Inc., Virginia Department of Transportation, and the Accomack County Department of Public Safety.
