On December 21, 2024, at approximately 2:38 p.m., deputies from the Rowan County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired at 137 Hardy Lane in Woodleaf, North Carolina. Upon arrival, they discovered 45-year-old Elliott Rudolph Wilds suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to airlift Wilds to a medical facility, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
