On the morning of September 14, 2024, a tragic double homicide occurred in Woodleaf, North Carolina, resulting in the deaths of 35-year-old Bryan Christian Burr and 43-year-old Teri Freeman. The incident came to light when Amanda Burr, Bryan's wife, received a disturbing photograph from Jonathan Freeman, a family friend, depicting her husband deceased in their home. Amanda promptly contacted emergency services at approximately 8:42 a.m.
Upon arrival at the residence on Old Oak Lane, Rowan County Sheriff's deputies found both Bryan Burr and Teri Freeman inside, each having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Jonathan Freeman, 44, was present at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. Evidence collected from the scene, along with incriminating statements made by Jonathan to individuals he contacted after the killings, led to his arrest. He was charged with two counts of murder and is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center without bond. His initial court appearance was scheduled for September 17, 2024.
