On December 23, 2024, at approximately 9:51 p.m., Fayetteville police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 4600 block of Gardenwood Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered 20-year-old Malakai Woods suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
