On July 17, 2023, 52-year-old Alvie Chavis Jr. was fatally shot in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The incident occurred during an attempted armed robbery along the 300 block of Dallas Street. Chavis sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound and was later found deceased behind a residence in the 2000 block of Center Street.
