A young man's life was cut short in a violent act that led to a search for the primary suspect and the subsequent arrest of his family members. Antonio Jimenez Gonzalez, a 30-year-old man, was killed in a shooting in Phoenix. Authorities named Richard Paz Garcia as the man they believed was responsible for the death of Gonzalez.
In the days following the shooting, Garcia's father, 50-year-old Juan Manuel Paz Rangel, and his brother, 25-year-old Fredian Paz Garcia, were taken into custody. Their arrests were not for the act of murder itself, but for allegedly attempting to cover up the crime.
According to police reports, Richard Paz Garcia had admitted to his family that he had killed Gonzalez. He is said to have left the gun used in the shooting at a family home. His father and brother reportedly found the weapon and were attempting to either hide or dispose of it when they were apprehended by law enforcement.
